New York Sheraton Sofa ca. 1820
With the three panel carved crest, reeded
seat frame and incurved arms, this sofa relates to those made by Duncan
Phyfe and contemporaries in New York. Characterized as a
"Masterpiece" in The New Fine Points of Furniture, this is one
of several pieces being offered from the Mathis Estate.
